  • Twittering killed the xanga blog star.

Man, now I know what killed my blog. It was TWITTER and FACEBOOK.

I'm twittering and updating my facebook status a couple times a day, and so I just don't feel the need to blog anymore.

But here's some fun things happening with me:

Jer and I are doing pretty well with our fitness goals. I am sticking to my diet like super glue and he has consistently been watching what he eats and going to the gym. I have lost almost six pounds and he has lost eight pounds! I have drastically reduced how much butter I use while cooking and I've replaced almost every ingredient with reduced fat or no fat varieties. I drink ABSOLUTELY nothing but water (flavored with Crystal Light of course) and 1% milk. I just have to have milk with breakfast and PB&Js. The calcium and vitamins makes it worth it, so I don't feel bad about that.

I've switched from 85% lean ground beef to 95-96% ground beef. I actually like it a lot better. I rarely have sweets or treats and when I do it's usually one of my 100 calorie packs. I rarely, if ever, have fast food, but I do take a couple of Joey's fries when he gets McDonald's before scouts. Usually when he's not looking. Shhh!

I've started a little work-out routine. I spend about an hour doing little aerobic and cardio exercises along with some minor strength stuff like crunches and push ups. It's still not fun, but it has to be done.

Friday is Joey's last day of school, and Saturday begins the SWAFFORD SUMMER EXTRAVAGANZA.

Jeremy's work is sending us to Lagoon for free on Saturday, and they will give us a free, unhealthy lunch to go with it. So that will be fun. I don't think I'll do many rollercoasters this time. I just don't think they're that fun anymore. Plus I'm paranoid, and it's 30 minutes of sitting in line for a two minute show anyway. I'd rather take pictures.

A week or so later, the real fun begins. We're going down to Florida to do Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and WALT DISNEY WORLD. YESSSSSS. I am sooo excited for that part. Jer is more excited about SeaWorld and I'm excited about that too since I've only been once when I was seven. But still, Disney trumps SeaWorld any day. We'll also be going up to Washington DC to visit the Smithsonian, the International Spy Museum, and whatever else looks fun. I hope we get to some monuments so I can take pictures, and also so Joey can see those things. He's never been up there. I'd also like to drop by the Washington DC LDS temple. That's where my parents and I were sealed together as a family and where I did my first baptisms. You can learn more about that here www.ldstemples.com.

I'm super excited to see my family too. Especially to see my Dad with his iPhone. Jeremy talked him into getting one and I was kinda scared he wasn't going to be able to use it, or wouldn't like it, but apparently he is obsessed. Haha. My mom told me on the phone this morning that while they were camping this past weekend my dad was going around the camp site using is altitude app to tell everyone what the altitude was in different areas of the camp. Hilarious! He even checked the altitude of the picnic table. I love my dad. He's turning 50 in a couple weeks so we are gonna have a little party for him. I'm so excited! I can't believe he's fifty though. That sounds old and he is definitely still very youthful. Both he and my mom are pretty cool and I feel like they are a lot like me. Not over the hill. Oh well. I think I just hate the idea of them getting older because I don't want them to be gone any time soon. I want them to be around when I have grandkids.

McKayla and Chelsea, my youngest sisters, will both be in high school next year. That's just ridiculous. I feel so old. I even have a five-year class reunion this summer! Where does the time go?

May 22nd, four days ago, marked five years that Jeremy and I have been together. Isn't that crazy? I love going back to five years ago and seeing the posts I was writing on here back then. I was so in love and happy. It's amazing that half a decade later I love him just as much and even deeper now.

    Well, that's all for now!

Jeremy and I have finally committed to get healthy TOGETHER. Oh my gosh it makes such a difference. With both Jeremy and I trying to focus on eating healthy, we stay way more motivated. Jer and I weighed ourselves and we are both the heaviest we've ever been! So I'm glad we're starting to get fit now. We just can't keep gaining weight like this! We aren't fat or huge, but I definitely don't ever want to get any bigger.

Jeremy got a membership at Gold's Gym, and has gone three times so far. He even met with a personal trainer! He is going with his buddy and they really push themselves. I am so proud of him! It really makes me want to stick to my diet and support him by preparing healthy meals. It stinks to lose another hour or two a day of time with him, but it will be worth it.

Joey and I have been going to the park almost everyday. Joey is going to lacrosse and baseball camp this summer, so we are trying to prepare for that. We got two lacrosse sticks so he and Jeremy can play together, and a little portable goal. We also got a baseball mitt and will probably get a bat next. It's been so fun to get outside and play together as a family. It also gives me a great opportunity to take photos and practice my sports shooting! The weather has been perfect. We haven't played video games in five days! I'm loving that. I haven't even missed them. Whenever I feel tempted to play one, I think about photography or scrapbooking and pull those things out instead. Diversion!

So that's what we've been up to.
